Celebrate: AudioBook Giveaway & More Giveaways!

AudioBook released!
BLOODWALKER
Narrated by Jonathan Waters

I'm excited to announce the release of the BLOODWALKER's AudioBook and a giveaway for 2 of them! Read on for more info...

BLURB:

Lightning flashes. Another child disappears…

When Zorka Circus performs, its big top roars with laughter and cheers, but when it moves on, there are fewer children in the European towns it leaves behind.

Circus Security Chief Rurik suspects a killer hides among the international performers, but they close ranks—they’ve always viewed lightning-scarred Rurik as the monster. Nevertheless, he's determined to find the culprit and stop them before anyone else dies and the only place he can call home is ripped apart by the murders.

Into Zorka Circus comes the Skomori clan, despised as gravediggers and ghoulish bloodwalkers. A one-day truce allows bloodwalker Sylvie to marry. Instead, she finds a body. Alerting others will defy her clan’s strict rules, break the truce, and leave her an outcast.

When more bodies turn up, the killer's trail becomes impossible to ignore. Rurik and Sylvie must follow the clues—even if they lead to something unimaginable.

Celebrate: Money, Money, Money & Giveaways

This week, I'm celebrating: Money!
1) In 1993, I moved to Egypt and started working at resorts. At the time, the dollar to Egyptian pound ratio was about 1 to 3. So one dollar would exchange to 3 pounds.
2) Over the years, I decided to keep a chunk of my money in dollars. Due to the dollar steadily strengthening against the pound, as of about 3 years ago, the ratio was 1 to 10. It gave me a pretty nice nest egg for my retirement.
3) And then came the IMF and its demand for Egypt to allow its pound to "free float" in world exchange. Egypt (desperate for the IMF loan) did it. The ratio is now 1 to 16.  My nest egg became a chubby chick!

But it's not all fun & games as government subsidies (on things like food, utilities, and medicine) are going down and inflation is soaring. Still, any income I make from writing will buy a lot more here than it would in the US. So I keep fingers crossed that the ratio continues to widen.

Are you the type who watches interest rates, stocks, and 401k balances? Or do you just cross your fingers and hope for the best?

Patricia Lynne has a new release!

Blurb
Savannah Janowitz’s perfect life was destroyed the night she and her boyfriend vanished without a trace. When she reappears a year later––alone––she’s a shell of her former self. Robbed of her popularity and her boyfriend, she has no memory of what happened to her. Savannah struggles to move forward as strange, new abilities manifest.

Evan Sullivan never gave extra-terrestrials much thought until the night he and Savannah were abducted. While Savannah’s memory was wiped clean, he remembers every horrific detail. Constantly reminded of the experiments that made him less than human, Evan hides in the shadows and watches Savannah rebuild her life without him. But neither can let the other go.

When their paths cross, Savannah and Evan finally see a glimmer of their old lives return. As they face what happened to them, they soon discover they aren’t safe. There’s more to fear than what’s hiding in the stars.

Available for $.99 at Amazon

About the Author
Patricia Josephine never set out to become a writer. In fact, she never considered it an option during high school and college. She was all about art. On a whim, she wrote down a story bouncing in her head. That was the start of it and she hasn't regretted a moment. She writes young adult under the name Patricia Lynne.

Patricia lives with her husband in Michigan, hopes one day to have what will resemble a small petting zoo, has a fondness for dying her hair the colors of the rainbow, and an obsession with Doctor Who.

Celebrate: Bearing Gifts & Giveaways

This week I'm celebrating:
1) When my husband got home from a family visit to Cairo last week, he came bearing gifts! He gave me:
2) A new set of dishes that are orange and yellow and so very cheerful! (And in the kitchen, I need all the good cheer I can get.)
3) A bunch of velvety scrunchies for my hair that I haven't been able to find in our town.
4) A NEW NOKIA PHONE!! I've had a crappy Chinese one for so long that the depleted battery makes the phone shut off every time I answer a call. I can only text (which kinda suits hermit-like me anyway), but the new one is AWESOME!

He's definitely in my good graces at the moment! <3

What's the best present you've gotten recently?

Celebrate: Dirty House & Giveaways

Yesterday, my husband returned to our home on the Red Sea from a visit to his family in Cairo. He'd been gone a while, and I may have relaxed my house-cleaning schedule a bit... Alright, more than a bit. Yeah, I basically took a vacay from cleaning and wrote, revised and watched TV (without having to fight for the remote). But now vacay is over, and it's time to be an adult. Waaaaa!!

Here are some comics to show how I feel about cleaning:

My most hated chore is cleaning the stove. Do you have a chore you really hate?

IWSG: Hannibal & Clarice

"Can you hear the lambs, Clarice?"

It's the first Wednesday of the month, and that means it's time for the Insecure Writers Support Group blog hop. This month, the question hoppers can answer is:
How has being a writer changed your experience as a reader?

Let me explain it this way:

In "Silence of the Lambs," Hannibal Lechter is always one step ahead of everyone else. He sees minute details others miss, he knows the truth behind everyone's character, and he capitalizes on anyone's mistakes. Clarice is generally left wide-eyed and bewildered at his evil but clever perceptions.

I have Hannibal the Editor, sitting on my shoulder at all times.

I've spent years studying writing craft to try to whip my writing into the best shape possible. It requires a critical eye and analysis from all sides--from the Big Picture to the smallest of details, like word choices that enhance tone. You know the phrase, "Kill your darlings"? Well, to help me write, I've basically created a serial killer of the written word.

On the good side (if there is one), it's made me more in touch with my genre, my specific niche, what my writing tastes are, and what I want to write.

On the bad side, I rarely take pleasure from reading anymore. Hannibal won't shut up. The littlest plot hole, characterization foible, cliche, or loss of continuity and Hannibal cackles in my ear, "Look, a mistake! Fix it. Take it out! KILL IT!" Of course, it's not my book to fix, but Hannibal doesn't seem to care. He's a serial killer after all...

This is a post for the Insecure Writer's Support Group, the brainchild of Alex J. Cavanaugh. It exists so the community of blogging writers can share and support each other, blog-hopping to cheerlead and commiserate. To find out more, visit: Insecure Writer's Support Group. Plus, check out the IWSG Website for lots of helpful info and links.
